Patient Safety Challenge 2009 is now over
Thank you to all our delegates, speakers and sponsors for establishing and contributing to what was a very successful and informative event.
The Patient Safety 2010 Congress will take place on the 25th and 26th May 2010.
The Health Service Journal and the Nursing Times have again teamed up with the NPSA, the Health Foundation, the NHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement and the Department of Health to deliver the next Patient Safety Congress.
The hugely successful inaugural Patient Safety Congress was a call to action to the NHS and an incitement to make the safety of patients its highest priority. Since the event, the profile of patient safety and awareness of safety incidents has continued to increase. As evidenced by the emphasis on safety within Lord Darzi’s NHS Next Stage Final Report “High Quality Care for All”
However, there is still an awful lot of work to do, the 3rd annual Patient Safety Congress will, as always, showcase exceptional new examples of patient safety from leading Trusts. But this year the Congress will push the boundaries to discover where patient safety is falling through the gaps. With a heightened focus on cross sector working, partnerships and all key areas of NHS provision. The Congress now more than ever will enable cross-sector learning as well as specific best practice for your own service.
The 2010 Congress is currently in development. We will announce the new programme and speakers shortly.
